Experts from SITRA, FACSA and IPROMA are giving training sessions in Toledo on waste management in the agri-food industries

Experts from SITRA, FACSA and IPROMA have participated these days in Toledo in a training session specifically aimed at technicians from the Ministry of Environment of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha.

The sessions, in which more than 30 technicians from different territorial services participated, as well as representatives of administrations and companies from Castilla-La Mancha, the professionals from Gimeno Servicios analyzed different problems associated with the management of wastewater generated by the agri-food industries in the area.

Specifically, Javier Donato, director of SITRA, addressed both the various types of spills and the technologies for their treatment, as well as the co-digestion of waste and by-products in WWTPs or biomethanization facilities.

Ernesto Santateresa, head of the Spill Control Department at FACSA, analyzed the distribution of responsibilities regarding spills, while Salvador Roger, Waste Coordinator, spoke alongside other experts about the agricultural application of sludge and the regulations governing it. Javier Sanjuan, a technician in the Projects Area at IPROMA, presented the applications of liquid waste in agricultural soils.
