One of the country's leading food companies, with three production plants and businesses in the poultry, pig and feed sectors, has entrusted SITRA with the expansion of its sludge dehydration line, after this need arose as its production capacity increased.

In this way, the team at the Grupo Gimeno company adds these new projects to those already underway at the company's facilities in Valencia, where it manages, provides technical assistance and maintenance for the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), and supplies chemical reagents. This has allowed them to conduct an operational amortization study to design the new expansion, taking into account the most important aspects for this type of facility, such as electricity consumption, chemical reagent consumption, and the dryness of the sludge produced.

Thus, as a result of this study, SITRA has concluded that the best system to install is a novel method using a dehydrating screwThis allows for a high level of sludge dryness—between 5 and 8 points higher than what is achieved with other systems such as the centrifugal decanter—as well as a reduction in electricity consumption of up to 90% compared to other equipment and less waste generation and management.
