The second edition of the Renewable Gas Exhibition, organized by the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) and the Spanish Biogas Association (AEBIG) at Feria Valladolid, has exceeded all expectations by bringing together nearly 2.000 professional visitors and 111 exhibiting companies, which have had the opportunity to showcase the latest technology, knowledge and resources to accelerate the successful implementation of biogas, biomethane and other renewable gas projects in Spain.

Among the exhibiting companies, SITRA and BIOVIC, companies belonging to the Gimeno Group, stood out, showcasing their latest technologies and solutions in the fields of biogas, biomethane, and green hydrogen at a joint stand. These services were presented firsthand to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Sara Aagesen; the President of the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM), Javier Díaz; the Minister of Development and the Environment of the Regional Government of Castile and León, Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones; and other dignitaries.

During the conferences organized at the 2nd Renewable Gas Exhibition, specifically at the panel discussion "New Technologies for Biogas Plants in Spain," Luis Puchades, director of Biovic, presented two pioneering projects in Spain. These projects, soon to be built for Abonos Orgánicos Montagut SL, involve various technologies, including digestion, composting, and thermal treatments. Located in the municipalities of Lluxent (Valencia) and Almansa (Albacete), they will provide a comprehensive solution for the management of agricultural and agro-industrial waste by transforming digestate and other organic byproducts into high-value fertilizers.

It is worth noting that the Lluxent plant will produce an organic fertilizer, eligible for organic certification, and the Almansa plant will have the capacity to produce more than 10% of the province's domestic natural gas consumption.

All of this highlights the company's progress in the development of renewable energies, such as hydrogen or biogas/biomethane, which play a fundamental role in the decarbonization process and in the drive towards a circular economy in the country.
